Experience Gent-Wevelgem in the fan villages of Moorsele and Gullegem
On Sunday 24 March, we will find out who will be the first to cross the finish line in Wevelgem. While the peloton speeds towards the finish, you can enjoy a whole day of racing fun in the fan villages of Moorsele and Gullegem, where cafés and associations will be providing food and drink stands. You can also expect music, entertainment, activities for the kids and big screens on which you can follow the race.
On Sunday morning, from 10:30, the fan village on Warandestraat in Moorsele will open its doors for a day packed with racing fun. What’s more, thanks to the big screen, you won’t have to miss a single moment of the race, and you will also be able to watch the riders themselves go by right in front of you between 11:00 and 11:30. A great atmosphere will be ensured in the fan village by a DJ and live music. In addition, the youngest cycling fans will be able to enjoy themselves all day long in the children’s village.
After its passage through Moorsele, the peloton continues towards Gullegem. There, the fan village on Dorpsplein will be opening from 10:30 with a similar offer featuring a big screen, a terrace, a children’s village and a great atmosphere ensured by the music of the band “De Coureurs” and a DJ. Here too, you will be able to cheer on your favourite rider enthusiastically during the passage between 11:00 and 11:30.
As tradition has it, the race through the Westhoek will end in Wevelgem. On Guldenbergplein, the festivities will start at 10:00 with non-stop street entertainment. At 13:00, the exciting balance bike competition for the very youngest cycling talents is on the programme, followed by the Men Elite’s finish at 16:20 and the accompanying podium ceremony at 16:50. The Women Elite’s finish will take place at 17:36, followed by the podium moment at 18:00. The evening will be rounded off with a sparkling DJ set by “Omdat Het Kan ft. Average Rob” at 18:15. The programme on Guldenbergplein will come to a close at around 20:00.
