'This is my moment', a documentary about Biniam Girmay's journey to the top

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, Biniam Girmay was to celebrate on the Vanackerestraat in Wevelgem. He became the first African cyclist ever to win a cycling classic. The documentary 'This is my moment' provides a unique insight into the journey of the Eritrean to the top.

For six years, director Lieven Corthouts was the only one allowed to follow Biniam Girmay. It resulted in the documentary 'This is my moment'. You get a unique insight into the journey of 'Bini' to the top and all the obstacles that came along his way. What started as a 17-year-old Eritrean cycling talent had a historic climax on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields. Girmay became the first African ever to win a cycling classic. The documentary will be available in cinemas starting from May 1. All screenings can be found on www.thisismymomentdocumentary.com.
